Martial arts is a very broad area of practice, here is my humble attempt to organize various aspects. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics, or an experienced martial artist seeking to deepen your practice, our playbooks provide structured pathways for learning. Seated Martial Arts
Seated Martial Arts are performed while seated. The routines may or may not involve the lower extremities.
Everyday Motion Module
The Everyday Motion Module is a standalone educational feature that applies martial arts movements to daily life activities.
Health and Wellness
The Health and Wellness series aims to reduce stress with physical routines using martial art styles. It also offers modules that introduce Tai Chi Chuan movements.
Yoga Mat Series
The Yoga Mat Series includes martial art combinations using a yoga mat, designed to teach martial arts movements within space constraints. It also includes yoga asanas, done in sequences or individually.
Fitness
The Fitness series is divided into three sections, each using a sports science approach to martial arts workouts. The routines are designed to target different muscle fiber types: Type I, Type IIa, and Type IIb, ensuring a balanced approach.
Performance
The Performance series includes three frameworks: Classic, Trials, and Sports. The Classic framework uses traditional methods such as belt ranking systems, structured routines, and sequences of drills. The Trials framework focuses on benchmarks for skills and abilities. The Sports framework applies martial arts in a sporting context.
Shows
Martial arts has traditions that tie it to demonstrations for entertainment purposes. This includes specific combinations for choreography, elaborations, and larger structured productions designed to enhance performance.
Basic Self Defense Tactics
Basic Self Defense Tactics include general modules for situational awareness, simple strikes, escapes, communication, legality, prevention, stress reduction, and confidence building.
Meditation
Meditation techniques involve breathing exercises intended for various contexts such as sitting, standing, and moving. The Mindfulness Module focuses on reflecting on instinctive reactions and decision-making. Other modules enhance the ability to maintain and direct focus during tasks, adapting them for practical use.
Lifelong Learning
A myriad of martial arts styles exist, each with unique practices and philosophies. This space is dedicated to those who prefer to continue practicing the routines that have inspired them throughout their lives. The framework allows focusing on one routine for a set period, with the flexibility to renew or change as needed.
